Portrait Assignment #2

For this assignment, I chose to photograph my daughter, Aspen. She has been though a lot in her life and still radiates kindness and beauty.

The first challenge I had with the photo shoot is just being ill. I wasn’t really sure I was coming down with something until that night. I was going from having the chills to sweating profusely. It was difficult maneuvering the equipment because I felt so weak.

The second challenge was that I needed the large softbox to be raised higher. It was suspended on a large boom, and it was just a limitation I needed to work with. Ultimately the goal was to have my subject raise her arms a little overhead, behind her head, but we ran out of room.

Overall, I am pleased with the portrait.
